August Shine

Summer is in full swing, yet I'm ready to transition into the next season. Don't get me wrong, I am loving the Seattle summer weather, but somehow my collection of gingham + sandals aren't cutting the sartorial mustard, and I'm craving autumnal pieces such as lightweight jackets + sweaters, dresses paired with pants, and....boots! My mind is already picking out favorite outfits for Fall while my body is decked in in summer time favorites.

This month, I'm craving shiny things- like gold shoes, glitter eye shadows, bright bold abstract prints, and glossy black. As in shiny jet black hair. I'm thinking about doing a complete turn around to my previous incarnation as Raspberry head, and going Johnny Cash on you. Maybe its being surrounded by all these Seattle crows. But glossy black, is where it's at.

SHINE ON. Here's a shout out to some of the many awesome bloggers who are now officially on the +40 Blog Roll

I'd like to thank Tooth Soap, Karina Dresses, Funkoma Vintage, Omhu, Sunglasses Shop and French Cuff Consignment for sponsoring the Citizen Rosebud, and allowing me my chance to shine.

Also shiny + new for me are my new digs! I am FRESHLY moved into a new place. I'm still in Ballard, but have moved out of a modest basement space into a room with a view. I now share a home with a couple of sweet housemates- a lovely woman named Amy and an adorable puggle! So I'll be taking a week or so off blogging to get myself situated, so please excuse my absence in the bloggersphere.  I have A LOT of unpacking to do!

I just had to swing on in and check out your new album! You know, the one with the bright yellow cover and a glorious picture of you on the front.
I'm guessing some of the tracks on your album would be called:

Rosebud Riffs
Rockin Raspberry Head
Over 40 Swing
Blog till you drop

Where can I pick up a copy? Easy Street Records by chance??

Congrats on your new digs!

What a great pic! Don't wish your summer away, we Brits aren't having much sun this year and I am envious of other people's proper summer weather!
Good luck in your new home and with the unpacking. Hope you soon feel settled and comfortable. xxx

Yes, we haven't had enough Summer in the UK so I'm not over it yet, however you can be sure that as soon as September comes around I'll be lusting after the Sloane Ranger look (have a look on google) - I love your hair but I reckon black would be fantastic too, give it a go - you can get those blacks with a hint of blue, that would be perfect! xxxxx

Hi Bella! Will miss you while you are unpacking but totally understand that, having just moved myself! While I, too, am enjoying the current moment, I have been thinking of layering skirts again, bright tights, boots, and all the like. I guess it's just the way fashion rolls: change is beautiful! Enjoy getting settled in!

I'm so over summer, another hot (90+), humid (0ver 50%) day. Sleeves? Yes, please. Tights? Yes, please.

I feel you. All of my best sartorial choices are made in the autumn/winter months. I love summer but sometimes I grow too stagnant with my style. I blame the Midwest heat!

Hi sweet Bella! Happy to hear about your new digs! No matter what color hair you have, you got lots of fresh style! Don't let the Seattle gray influence you too much, they need more color up there.

Hi Bella, I'm totally ready for Autumn clothing, but not quite ready to say that this is the end of our Summer, we've hardly had any! Congrats on the new place - also looking forward to seeing the new hair.

You asked my email address - it's charityshopqueen@gmail.com

Also Sarah Misfit did her photoshop magic - I'm not on a unicorn, but I am in the same field as one! It's on my FB page

I am in the same mood! Now that hot weather is really here, though, I can't imagine putting on any kind of scarf or hat.
