the Citizen Rosebud: About the Citizen

Home-grown in Sacramento, California, the Citizen Rosebud is the personal style blog of Bella Q, writer, poet, and plus 40 fashion blogger. That would be me: the voice and eye behind the Citizen- I do the writing, the styling and the photography, as well as intrepid model for my weekly outfit posts.

Focusing on personal style, I am more interested in dressing as a means of personal expression than I am about acquiring the latest "it" bag. In fact, you won't find much fast fashion here at the Citizen. You WILL find a love of vintage, second-hand and up-cycled fashions, as well as a strong emphasis on fashion sustainablity and a D.I.Y. ethos.

My motto: Bloom Madly! And that's what I try to do daily in expressing my love for life in my flagrant disregard to convention and my abundant love of mixed patterns.

My dream is to create an artist's cooperative where vintage, hand-made goods, and arts & crafts can happily mingle. My aim is to help foster community on a local, and global level and to "bloom where I'm planted."
