The Long Arms of Summer

The sunlight where I live astounds me- there is really a special sort of light here, especially this time of year- there's a stillness to it, and a long slant, like the sunlight you see at four o'clock, only it seems to last all day. It feels dreamlike, and magical, as if any moment, if I move too quickly, I might just wake up.

Beautiful pictures. I know what you mean about the sunlight...we have a bit of that "suspended time" light outside my window right now...

Great pictures and beautiful post! The sunlight is changing here as well and I love it.

Unrelated side note: Do you have time to join Adrienne and me for "How I Wear My: Neon"? I feel quite certain you have neon in that closet of yours. Do share it with the rest of us (or think about it, anyway). XO, Jill

I love that beautiful dress! The sun is definitely "shifting" but it's still baking us to a crisp here in Nashville.

Hello, my dear sister.
I love to live the present, but somehow I always look forward for the mild autumn in the south.
You are looking beautiful.

Your poetic description of this time of year fits perfectly with how I feel right now. The transition into fall, the shorter days, the chill in the evening and morning air. Yes, it is dreamlike. Like your photos and your words.
