the United States of Aloha

Yep. I could wear red, white and blue ALL summer long. But I'll probably stop soon, as I've got a bulging closet full of other colors and prints that are feeling neglected. I'm not just a seersucker gal. There's more to the bud than a simple flag palette.

But, not today. Here's yet one more study in Americana, all elements you've seen before. Classics, each in their own quirky way. Here's a taste of Aloha in the form of a shortened vintage Hawaiian muu-muu. I mentioned that I'm collecting muu-muus, right?

Now Wearing:
Most likely my next post will be pictures from my 4th of July, and it'll probably be a little anti-climatic. I mean, I KNOW I can't top last year's dress. And we're planning a super mellow day.  But a day that celebrates the founding of my country for me is a day worth celebrating. Each of us carries our native country indelibly inside of us, and I am no exception. I am born & bred of this country. There is no running from it: I am American.

We may be a bit brash and loud, but trust me, these hearts are well meaning. It is a big, beautiful country, born from bold dreams and great ideals, and there is always, will always be,  room at the inn for those seeking a better life, and are willing to add their lot to the melting pot that makes up the red, white & blue.

Wishing you all a safe& happy Independence day.          -Bella Q
