Shoe Shine: Summer Kicks
Share YOUR stellar summer kicks!
I'm wearing a summer bright, white patent leather pair of Laura Ashley Mary Janes, similar to the flats I wore as a kid to Sabbath school. Turns out they are probably children's shoes, lol. My feet are pretty small. I loved wearing these to the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit at the Seattle Space Needle recently. I felt so fancy in these patent leather flats, and they were very comfortable for a day of family fun, art and culture!
What are your favorite shoes for summer?

Shoe Shine: You Be the Star
Hello Rosebuds! I'm going to be turning the spotlight on YOU!
Instead of posting pictures of MY feet every week, I'd rather host a community event once a month highlighting your favorite shoes.
Starting next Wednesday, April 10th, the Citizen Rosebud will host its first community event using InLinkz, so all you have to do is link up your favorite shoe post or picture (you just need a url link to your photo, you don't need to be a blogger) and we can check you out.
I'm calling it Shoe Shine, 'cuz you know I like overly clever and pun-filled phrases. I hope to see you (and your stellar shoes) next week! -Bella Q

Walk the Walk: Shop Secondhand First
A few years ago, inspired by the stylish and thrift fellow bloggers, Emily of the Daily Fashionista, and the unforgettable Reva of Reva's Rags to Roses, I created a pledge. You can see the start of it HERE. Realizing that I was partial to style bloggers who focused on vintage and/or thrift shopping, and that they, like myself were trying to do their part to be ethical and sustainable shoppers. Reva and I discussed this and she made a pledge widget for us to display on our sidebars. I recently ran across this pledge on a blogger's sidebar, someone I didn't know, and someone who didn't know that the pledge was originated by me. What we both knew, is that we were both committed to creating a lighter carbon footprint, and one of our strategies was to SHOP SECONDHAND FIRST.

20 on +40: The Ragged/Rags Interview
20 on +40
Note: To showcase the wide appeal of +40 bloggers that goes beyond their own age-group, I'm starting a new blog feature, the 20 on +40. This feature will showcase 20 other friends in the community who pick their favorite +40 blogger, interview them, and write about it. This is the first of the series.
There are so many people who are an integral part of (what I consider) the Rosebud community- and in the thick of it is Terri from Rags Against the Machine. Terri is an academic and her approach towards fashion and style is thoughtful and thought provoking. Her blog posts have an appeal that reaches well beyond her age contemporaries; Terri engages women of all ages, with her sharp observations and warm personality. One such reader, a twenty-something blogger was a natural choice for this new blog series, and that was Meghan from the Philly based blog, Meg's Ragged Edge.
The Ragged/Rags Interview
by Meghan Edge
I have started this intro over and over during the last few weeks trying to figure out what I could possibly say to introduce Terri from Rags Against the Machine to you. I get stuck because she's been such a big part of my blogging life and I can't figure out how to say in words how supportive, kind and fun a friend she's been to me. I feel like I've been a part of her adventures and we even had a few together- like that time we both hula-hooped on camera for our blogs! She's one of the nicest people that I know but she also won't lie to you. When Bella asked which 40+ blogger I wanted to interview, there was only one in my mind: Terri.
