outfit post: Short-n-Sweet

It's been an incredible, busy, sea-change sort of week. I am wiped-out, and wordless. Sacramento is serving up its signature summer heat, but I am unfazed- I just pared down my outfit to a whisper of a dress, which is actually a vintage navy swiss dot skirt, hiked up and worn muu-muu style.

Little navy blue with white trim shorts were worn for modesty sake. Keeping it simple, I wore my red knit hat to cover my now rather alarmingly unruly growing out hair, fave heart sunnies, white brogues and this vintage souvenir totes regaling old New Orleans.  Which is for sale by the way, $30 bucks including shipping, if in the United States.
Message me at shop@shopthecitizen.com if interested.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Thank you for just inspiring me to hike up a certain midi skirt that's been bothering me at it's intended length. As always, your heart-shaped sunnies are the bomb.

It's so grey here - glad someone is having the weather they're supposed to in, you know, Summer. I have new dresses and am sitting inside debating putting the central heating on. Love your Lolita shades!

To be standing on a corner, heart beating faster, waiting for you, and then I turn around and see you walking towards me, skirt-dress, heart sunnies and that face. You are so beautiful Bella, I feel you! Love, Anika

You look ADORABLE! Love the cut and the flow of the dress.

I am also up in San Diego at an ungodly time, and checking out blogs. It's starting to get hot out here, too som I'm going to do the same thing and start breaking out sundresses and such. Yay for Cali summers!

Cute! There's no way that could ever qualify as a muumuu. I'm glad you wore shorts, though. Sometimes I do the same. It's a huge tease and so comforting knowing your flimsies won't be on display with the next gust of wind!

I love the ingenuity of fashion-bloggers. Wearing a skirt for a dress! What's next? Wearing socks as mittens?!

Love it- simple and sweet for the hot hot weather we've been having- definitely better than my polyester/rayon work pants hahaha.

Ah, I love that trick of simply hitching up an elasticated skirt to make an instant dress. Looking good, especially in front of that fine backdrop. Makes me wish I too was wafting around in something very summery.

Why is it I never think to wear a skirt as a dress? I do the opposite sometime and wear a dress as a skirt, but you have just inspired me to look at my closet in a new way!

This looks super cute on you. I don't get the muumuu vibe at all and the hat just brings it together perfectly.
