outfit post: Peeping Tomboy

Vintage Casual: Bella Plays Rough + Ready
I felt every bit of a tomboy in my super casual outfit of a vintage '60's  men's short sleeved shirt, paired with the now ubiquitous cut-offs.  The awesome top, was a gift to me from the remarkable Ann Tindall of Annimal House. The itsy-bitsy jeans, I think you've seen them in the last five outfit posts. I wasn't crazy about these Target purchased mid-thigh shorts before I hacked them to bits, but now, a mere whisper of a pair of jeans that they are, they are in high rotation.

So today it's sky-high wedge platforms, super short shorts and a blue-plate special of vintage served up with a smile and a double helping of sass. Like what you see? Leave a comment and tell me about your favorite "Tomboy" outfit.

This girl has No Reservations about NOT being a girlie-girl.
Now Wearing:
  • Mui Mui Sunnies
  • vintage Men's shirt, gifted
  • Porkchop Rules pins
  • jean cut-offs, D.I.Y.
  • Wild Diva platform wedges, Heart Boutique

I adore that shirt, its fab!

I love a crisp white shirt and jeans, but still have to add killer heels to add the sexy girly style!

I also love fitted trousers, shirt and waistcoat as I can wear this for work, again with killer heels and red lippy!

Love your tomboy look! My tomboy look includes a tie, straight trousers and a blouse. And some suspenders :D But before I found vintage, my style was very Avril Lavigne inspired, I felt so tomboy :D

I've never really enjoyed the tomboy look. My sister kinda took that over growing up and we tried desperately to not look the same so that meant keeping with our own styles. We were weirdos;) The funny part is, it stuck after all these years. She's very androgynous with her wardrobe, while I don't even own a pair of dress slacks.

I love your pin Bella! You're looking so great my dear. Hope you are enjoying your summer. I have a tad bit lost from the blog world, been very busy with my real life. Hoping to be back to normal soon. xoxo

I love boyish clothes. I can't seem to ever put on a dress or skirt, but am working on changing that a bit. I love your look here. Dear Bella, will you come to NYC next month? Can we possibly meet? XO, Jill in Brooklyn.

so funny and chic outfit, actually love your style!
I always enjoy a nice Tomboy outfit myself, striped t-shirt and blue-jeans, with some patent booties, a hat or a vest!, it's lovely how you can get so much fun playing with fashion!
nice to read you!

Look at YOU - looking not so much tomboy, I'd say, as head-turning stunning! The nearest I get to tomboy is my ancient ripped skinny jeans and my late grandfather's Stanford athletics vest, or my great grand-dad's tailcoat and dress shirt, complete with cufflinks.

I love how women pull off men's clothes! (Marlene Dietrich, Katherine Hepburn, oh, even Amelia Earhart!). Looking great here! I actually envy your very short hair cut. I don't have the courage, though every time I go to a "famous" hairdresser, the first thing they want to do is give me a pixie cut. xx

I adore that first photo. Now that's a compelling, "come check out my blog post" photo. :) Not sure I have a tomboy outfit that goes in public. Maybe I'd just wear less sequins?

I had a pink shirt a lot like that one once- I love a ratty pair of jeans now and then, that's my tomboy streak in between dresses. As I have gotten older I do dresses more often. They are easier some days.

I do indeed dig this tomboy look of yours. I pretty much live in my distressed boyfriend jeans which I think have a tomboy vibe!

Loving that shirt and the short-shorts and the wedges and YOU. (Also love me some Tom Waits lately, so thanks for that.) I'm trying to think if I have a tomboy outfit...I'm sure I do, but I can't think of it! I love suits, though, I'm crazy about them. I wrote up a whole post on how menswear inspires my own style once, but never did publish it. Someday I'll have to revisit the subject!

I always wish i had some male family members closet to raid and find awesome stuff. but my grandpa basically wears khakis and button downs all the time haha. I love this shirt though, and go on woman! SHOW THOSE LEGGIES! I'm insanely jealous of that, still sitting here with a space heater, hot coffee, and a blanket at my desk. Ready for the cold to move it along.
