outfit post: Green Legs + Ham

Gone Green: Up-cycled braided fabric necklace c/o Howrah Bridge
So here I am, shivering like a Aspen in the Emerald City. And, just 'round the bend, the green-soaked and greatest of American drinking holidays known as St. Paddy's Day. I was reminded by Terry, via Twitter that my favorite fashion meme, Everybody Every Wear was celebrating the color green this month,  and that got my shivering legs in motion, and me hunting down my own version of homage to this color of forests, fauna and envy.

As usual, I was drawn to florals. After all with the rain pounding on the doors + windows, I thought this little jacket looked like just the thing to answer it. It's a sweet vintage jacket that should be finding its way into the Etsy shop soon and would probably look wonderful on you. The vintage dress is one of my favorites but seems on the south side of wear- the fabric is very thin + fragile so I wear it with the awareness that life is fleeting and best left to appreciate in the moment. I love how the dress hugs my womanly curves; I feel quite the Femme Vitale when I wear it.

Green: Everybody, Everywear

I'm not crazy about how the outfit turned out- the green legs are a bit "too green." I think a teal or a grey blue pair of tights would have worked better. But I did get to wear my Howrah Bridge braided fabric necklace so that's something to cheer me. Howrah Bridge is the labor of love by my blogger pal, Anupria, aka the Polka Princess of Chappals vs Stilletoes. You can order your own at her Etsy shop or check out the latest Howrah Bridge items on her Facebook fan page: Howrah Bridge.

I did enjoy hamming it up indoors however, since it was too cold + grey + rainy to get any good pictures outside. Believe you me, I tried. Nothing like sliding on a wood floor and posing in front of a nervous kitty to remind me how silly I can be. I also enjoyed the beautiful fresh tulips that I got as a parting perk for attending the Nordstrom Rack Opening Tweet-up. I was honored to be asked (along with lots of other bloggers + social media types) to attend a sneak preview of the new location and bonus pre-opening shop session at the Nordstrom Rack in Westlake Center. The store is a beaute, the people who work there are sweet as sugar cubes, and the shoe department was full of temptation. In short: a very fun time.  Grand opening is Thursday, March 15th, 9 am, so if you're in Seattle, here's a chance to get some shop on and maybe even win a $2000 shopping spree!

Now Wearing:
  • Everybody Every Wear GREEN
  • vintage floral print canvas jacket
  • braided fabric necklace, c/o Howrah Bridge
  • vintage floral sundress
  • vintage gold metal belt
  • We Love Colors tights
  • non-leather brown boots, Target

Yeah! You did it! And against all odds. I followed your tweets about your visit to the new Nordstroms Rack and thought you were wasting no time. Your hair looks so red in these photos!

I love love that full-on riot of spring, all those jostling gossipy colours and pattern misbehaving in the best possible way! And the green legs are awesome - one can never go too green with one's legs. What's that backdrop? Even more creativity and expression seem to be in the air... Oh, great necklace too!

Bella, I love your new hair color! The perfect change for your new life. Despite the stress of a major move, you appear serene, meditative. The tulips reflect your outfit and you always know how to make florals look delicious. Though your dress is fragile it is well loved, as are you.
