CITIZEN LOVES: My Choices Are My Style

She is a whisper of a girl: young, thin and lithe, consisting mainly of long legs, long hair and a big smile. She's a style chameleon, squinting into the lens, often caught on camera joyously leaping  gazelle-like mid-air. Eclectic, electric is her way, and while she wears the typical youth oriented garb, culled from the fast fashion sites of Romwe, Oasap and their ilk, Stella styles them in such an original way, that she comes off as nearly timeless in her aesthetic. Even at her young age (she's just 17,) she's already an expert stylist and seems almost preternaturally capable of mixing any era and making it work.
Play. Feel unique. Feel different. Experiment. That's what fashion is for. -Stella P
Her name is Stella P, and she LOVES fashion.
Her blog, My Choices Are My Style seems an afterthought; she seems more at ease rubbing elbows on the pages of Chictopia and Lookbook than cultivating her own brand and website. She's refreshingly humble and is one of the first to compliment another girl's outfit. For me, Stella is the embodiment of ALL-AGES STYLE.  I easily imagine her at age 60 still rocking a crazy hat, an odd pair of sunglasses with a wild dress, and amiably chatting with friends. So, of course, I had to chat with her. We did it via the internet.

CITIZEN: Who are you? Where do you live? What do you do?
STELLA: My name is Stella P, and I'm a student from Athens, Greece. I love fashion, photography and any other form of art!

CITIZEN: Do you have a fashion icon?
STELLA: Of course I do! I love Audrey Hepburn, Emma Watson, Twiggy, Helena Bonham Carter. I mostly get obsessed with eras, not with people though.

CITIZEN: Share 3 of your favorite style blogs with us.
CITIZEN: What's your nationality and does it have any effect on your style?
STELLA: My nationality is Greek. I have to admit that when it comes to fashion, I try to be everything but Greek! I know, that might sound wrong, but I don't feel really like blending in. Of course, what I love is the weather. In the summer I am able to wear all those breezy dresses and romantic pieces, something which might have been difficult if I lived somewhere else.

CITIZEN: Name 3 trends you're loving right now.
STELLA: Only three? Goodness, how am I going to do that? Well, I guess, that has to be hippie crochet and bell sleeves, romantic casual combinations (like denim, pearls + lace) and mint, lots of it!

CITIZEN: Do you have any style advice for us?
STELLA: I do, and that won't be "mix florals with stripes", or "add pops of color." My advice is play. Fashion for me is a game. It allows you to be a princess, a rebel, a hippie, a flapper or a rocker. You can wake up in the morning and feel like travelling to the 1950's, the Edwardian Era or the Belle Epoque. Play. Feel unique. Feel different. Experiment. That's what fashion is for.
