Party on Top, No nonsense on the Bottom

Bella wears her version of a Casual Christmas party outfit featuring No nonsense leg wear
Happy Holidays!

Let's get down to business and talk about No nonsense tights and leggings.
My neighborhood Walgreens sells them, and in case you think that fashion can't be affordable or easy to buy, think again. I love how easy it can be to buy quality leg wear in up-to-date fashion accents. Color, texture and fun fashion sense can be yours in a minute, and at a great price.

So check me out.

This time of year, you're probably busy getting ready for the holidays and part of that, other than munching on too many candy canes, shopping for presents and mailing your holiday cards, you've also got a few Christmas parties to attend, and, most of them are "Christmas casual." Which means in modern parlance that you want to look festive but not feel over-dressed.

My fashionable approach to Christmas casual?
Call it the mullet approach: Party on top, and No nonsense on the bottom. By wearing some festive touches such as fun prints + plaids, sparkly jewelry and accessories but keeping yourself casual and comfortable in denim or leggings, you can enjoy the festivities without missing a beat. Leopard? Check. Sparkle? Check. Plaid? Double check. Comfortable bottoms in rich holiday color? No brainer: No nonsense leg wear, and BAM! You've got this.

I created two outfits that I'd wear to any upcoming casual Christmas parties. The first outfit showcases my favorite festive patterns and denim. Note the omnipresent trending color du jour, oxblood,  looking every bit of a style stand out, in a pair a diamond patterned textured tights by No nonsense:
And what's Christmas dressing without loads of gold on gold on gold, and cuddly fur? Fa-la-la-la fun is what I call this Kenzo Girl jacket, made up of metallic thread enhanced tapestry, shiny satin with faux fur trim. I love the rich look of the camel color, and gave it the spirit of Christmas with a pair of suuuper stretchy corduroy/velour textured No nonsense leggings. Suuuper stretchy means I can line up for seconds at the buffet.  Yeah I said it. SECONDS. 'Tis the season, so celebrate!
J'Adore?

Me too.

Nothing enhances an outfit easier than good hosiery. Colored and patterned tights are my favorite choice. I haven't tried this brand before but, on your suggestion, will give them a try. Thanks!

Ah, I love different coloured/patterned tights! Although sadly it's too hot right now to wear them! You look fantastic, and I'm coveting that leopard print hat.

Lovely! I'm a fan of colorful tights in fall and winter but I haven't tried No Nonsense. I will. Affordable and fashionable should go hand in hand. Love your looks, especially the purple tights (but the faux-fur trimmed coat is darling).

I LOVE that second coat. Actually, I love the first as well.

And I can't believe both the tights and leggings are No Nonsense; I just associate them with panty hose!

I just love patterned tights - these are so cute! Love your gorgeous floral jacket too.

The gorgeous headwear reinforces the theory that leopard print is a neutral. It looks great with both outfits and you will be turning heads at holiday parties. And love the leg wear!

Love both these looks to death! And good to know about no-nonsense. I always need tights!

This whole casual holiday party look is difficult for me. Don't get me wrong, I like your outfits, but I want to get dressed up! I went to a party this weekend wearing my new black dress and everyone went on and on about how glamorous I looked. I was the only woman wearing a dress, and even though it was a simple dress, it wasn't casual enough. Sigh.

The thing I like best about your style (and the reason I decided to start following your blog) is your pattern mixing ideas. Plaid and leopard= great look. Plus you're scoring extra points for being a fellow Seattlite now!

I love the leopard trim coat! I haven't worn this brand of tights but I will give them a try.

Sometimes I forget that legwear can be got at the drugstore. The choices look just as good as the department store. Love the jacket with the bows.

Oh Bella! You look amazing in both of these looks...the styling is perfection! My favorite, however, is the second...the coat, the leggings, the hat; I'm completely feeling the whole thing!! LOVE it girly! Hugs to you! ~Serene

"The mullet approach" - I think you need to trademark that phrase as it's a great way to describe festive meets casual. ALso really enjoying both the jacket/leggings combination on you as well as the prospect of seconds. We'll be baking czech Christmas cookies this weekend so I'll definitely be looking out my elasticated waist bands!

J'adore! The second pair look like velvet pants. Sweet.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I'm digging the tapestry coat along with everyone else.
I'll have to track down some mustard No Nonsense tights. I haven't thought about the brand in years. I used to buy them when they came in those orange plastic envelopes.

You look so cute in these outfits Rosebud and I love your approach to dressing. I too love leggings and jeans and plaid but they can be dull on their own so it's great to see how you've dressed them up to look more special. And that leopard print pill box hat is super cute on you. xx
