outfit post: Call of the Wild

Hello friends!

Today's outfit is a bit unusual for me in that I am NOT mixing prints. For once I'm dressing it straight- with one pattern only and for today it is the always stylish and perfect for Fall, the ANIMAL PRINT. The inspiration was my recent SCORE! from Freestyle Clothing Exchange. I've been wishing for animal print booties, but they have been beyond my meager budget. Ok, I'm supposed to be on a shopping ban, but when I saw the $30 price tag- the ban was temporarily lifted. They were EXACTLY what I wanted.

For a quick + easy ensemble, I pulled out my chunky knit animal print cardi and a vintage scarf and threw on the uniform of a black t-shirt and shorts. And feeling quite the style-gal-pal with my abundance of kitty-kitty. Now I'm gearing up to pair the shooties with some plaid, some stripes and some serious lace. Anything. Everything. Because these shoes/booties are PURR-FECT.
Oh, and since shopping ban was momentarily ignored, I also stopped by Crimson + Clover and had some fun with the latest jewelry offerings by Porkchop Rules.  I purchased 2 rings, and an amazing white leather cuff with a brass anchor buckle on it. You can barely see it in the pictures, so next time I wear it, I need to show a close up of it- it is super sweet!

Feeling the like the cat's meow in my mix of animal prints.

now wearing:
  • white heart sunnies
  • Ralph Lauren hand-knit chunky cardi (Goodwill)
  • black-as-your-soul, ratty ol' Tee
  • vintage animal print scarf as belt
  • NEW! white leather anchor cuff (C&C)
  • NEW! goldtone brass heart ring (C&C)
  • D.I.Y. cut off shorts (from thrifted jeans)
  • striped/dotted/hearted tote (thrifted)
  • NEW! Animal print shooties (Freestyle)

I approve of lifting the ban for those shooties. You will definitely get your money's worth if you haven't already.

Your new booties - I die. And bans are made to be broken for shoes such as these. You look smashing!

lol, i started giggling when i read that this outfit is unusual for you cause you're not mixing prints. =P

can we just discuss how impressed i am that you were able to get a jacket and shoes, both leopard, that look good together. sometimes mixing leopard print on different items can be tough cause leopard varies GREATLY from item to item. but those two look like they were made for each other without being exactly the same and thus too matchy matchy. =P

you look fierce and hot. and i miss you!

Those shoes are gorgeous- I want some like that! (And, so that's what a 'shootie' is.. I've heard the name but never knew what it was referring to). Love the leopard x 3!!

LOVE IT! I do love leopard print, and I really like the way you've combined the leopard with leopard, but then calmed it all down with denim and a black t-shirt.

Denim & animal prints never go wrong together! :)

Those shooties called for a lift on the shopping bans all right!! <3

You look really awesome! I looooove leopard print and have been looking for something in this pattern forever.

Actually, I did find the perfect thing last year -- an A-line leopard print cotton skirt at Ross. I almost bought it, but I too was on a shopping ban (self-imposed) so I didn't. And I regret that to this day.

When you see something perfect like your booties you have to get it, I think. Otherwise you'll always wish you had.

I adore this look on you! I am really curious to see the cuff you mentioned. The shooties were SO worth lifting a ban to buy! Loving all your leopard goodness!
