The Good Foot

Que pasa people, que pasa?

Feeling a bit of moody cowgirl, I wore my vintage Dingo kicks with my favorite floral frock. As it has recently turned CHILLY, this may be the last time you see my bare legs for a while, so drink it up people!

The outfit is all thrifted save for the cute chevron tote I'm uh, toting. That is brand spanking new-  American made from House of Minerva. HoM is a labor of love for designer Kate Elfatah who designs her collection of totes and bags and aprons, as well as sewing custom pieces, and makes them all here in the U.S.A. Her designs are retro inspired and she's all about recycling her fabrics.
Note the second handbag- a blistering gem of a vintage wicker handbag- in black with brown accents and is available in the Etsy shop. I've recently realized that it's cross body straps only for me- so I am reluctantly letting this beaute of a bag go. The label is Adoria, and I just adore it. Don't you?
J'Adoria: Wicked Vintage Black Wicker Handbag is available on Etsy HERE.

I'll be posting more over at my SHOP THE CITIZEN blog, as I've been busy trying to list and sell my vast vintage and pre-loved empire on eBay and Etsy. With a very small home and pretty much enough stuff to open up a shop- I have got to get crackin' on my selling. As to not pollute these pages, I'll be posting some of my favorite finds over there, so please feel free to mosey over from time to time and check it out.

Here's my widget that I made for such a purpose. Can you tell I'd rather write and make widgets than to actually sell the goodies? Yes, but sell I must. In the parlance of the inestimable James Brown- ain't nothing going on but the rent.

How can you NOT feel good when listening to James Brown?
That was my knee-jerk reaction when I saw this window the other day on my way to work:

It put a smile on my face, and I felt awesome.
Awesome too, is this incredible piece- and I had a bit of fun photographing to list on eBay:
Dragonfly Dreams: Pamela Tuohy original can be purchased HERE

For those who love drama and mani-festival destiny- I present you an original Pamela Tuohy designed one-of-a-kind find from the now defunct festival collection. Pamela is still going strong however, creating wearable art with her painter husband using original art and recycled precious metals and gemstones. I often visit their website, 2ETN.com and sigh over the incredible creations.

It's truly a song of poetry taking flight on dragonfly's wings. Unfortunately I am having metal allergies and seem to be unable to wear necklaces with metal, which is sadly, most necklaces. But I trust this song of songs will find its true wearer and live happy ever after.

Meanwhile, it's a pedestrian dose of the day-to-day.  With the occasional happy dance.

Now Wearing:
  • vintage wool hat, This N That Thrift
  • vintage bolo ties, thrifted (various sources)
  • vintage acrylic sweater, thrifted
  • vintage wicker handbag (buy it HERE)
  • the Reno tote c/o House of Minerva
  • cotton summer dress, Value Village
  • vintage floral broach, Value Village
  • studded leather cuff, Fringe
  • Dingo vintage leather booties, Thrift Town
Linking up to Patti for VISIBLE MONDAY- see you there

I like your plaid umbrella poking out of that great Chevron Bag. I never heard of "The World is Fun" charity when I lived in Seattle. Good idea. Thanks for the outfit picture - I love them!

I really like the floral dress. The pattern is so fine that it would work in a frame like a painting.

Love the outfit. The dress and cardigan look so good together. And I'm SUCH a sucker for a great tote bag -- always tempted to buy way too many of them.

Ah Bella, I'm so happy to see you haven't stopped personal style blogging all together. Your outfit is really cute. I'd love to see how you deal with the cold up there so i hope some style posts make it on the blog.

I like both bags, but the chevron tote is especially cute.

The double bags are fabulous, as are you in this 'moody cowgirl' look. Thrifted, gifted, vintage, recycled, repurposed. Who has the time or inclination for retail???

Thrifted and vintage - 100% more awesome than retail!
Love the dress and the double-bagging! xxx

You look far more awesome in your thrifted and vintage then any model strutting down a runway wearing some $10,000 designer outfit!!

That certainly is an impressive outfit being 99% thrifted! Comprised of some great finds too (lovely hat!)

I'm envious of your chilly weather, I live in the Southern Hemisphere so it's almost Summer for me, and I long for cool weather and to be able to get my tights out again!

Lovely wicker handbag, too. I'm off to take a look at your Etsy store.

I love how cheerful and happy your outfits are, Bella! Beyond just being cute, they always make me smile. Darling dress, so your aesthetic. Will you be wearing it again in warmer weather with the beautiful blossom crown from your profile pic? That would be lovely!!! ~Sarah of Sarah Hulbert Style

James Brown, YEAH! I used to play that song in the factory back in day when I made Tooth Soap®! Those days are headed towards me again because I am going back to work once we open in Atlanta. Indeed, I will be getting on the good foot soon! xo

Such great vivid colors! Darling dress!

Yesterday I noticed that with the exception of my necklace, everything I wore was thrifted! Love it when that happens.
