Romwe, the people

Affordable Fun Leggings. Mass Produced. Sold Online.

So I'm now on my third pair of cute leggings by Romwe. Romwe is a fast fashion shop of sorts, so meh, it's an interesting way to try street style trends, but I can't vouch for the ethical/sustainable aspect of its manufacturing. I do like the varied and very cute prints available in their leggings. The leggings I ordered: all adorable. LOVE each and every print.

If they had consistent sizing, and a better grasp on quality control, this review would be a little more glowing in terms of product, but the down side is that a ONE SIZE legging came at way to big in the waist, as well as a Medium sized legging. Too big in the waist? Size Medium? I have a thick waist in proportion to my figure, so I can't help but wonder what the myriad of 20-something waif bloggers are going to do when they get their super cute leggings from Romwe and how these are going to stay on their tiny waspy waistlines.

Also, since the product is made and shipped from China, your order comes 2-3 weeks from the time you placed it. Which seems strangely snail-paced in our 21st Century blink-of-an-eye Amazon Primed overnight-24-7 global marketplace. I probably wouldn't be so cranky about how long it took to get my order, if the leggings had actually fit- but all were ill-fitting at the waist. Every single pair was too loose in the waist and I had to pull a SPANX panty over them to keep the waist to prevent the leggings from falling off me.

I do confess that the prints were a knock-out. I loved each and every one.

Black on White Abstract Tribal Print? Check.
Black Florals? Roger that.
White on Black Alchemy Print? Double Check.

The prices range start $29.99, and go up to $60-80 bucks. Most run in the neighborhood of $35,  which is an affordable option to try out interesting, bold prints. They are definitely cheaper than the $100+ Black Milk options, although, I'm going to squeeze out the old adage of  "one gets what one pays for."  Ahem.

Check, check and DOUBLE CHECK. Floral leggings by ROMWE mingle with a double dose of gingham.

For now-
Romwe's got a FLASH SALE going on. From now until the 23rd.  Up to 80% OFF! 200+ styles! There's a limited supply, and no restocking once sold out, so get there first, and shop the best.

They are great patterns but sizing problems duly noted.

Be a great gift for those on a diet however. Just sayin'...

Great leggings, and I really appreciate your honesty in your review; that counts big-time. Hopefully feedback like yours will lead to some improvements... Still, the designs are fantastic.

The leggings look fab - I particularly like Rosebud in the rose print - they need to sort out the sizing though.

I find that the $10 leggings in XL from Target fit me really well. I have fat thighs and do not like to be pinched. Just wish they came in something besides black and gray

The designs are interesting and fun. Too bad the quality is not there. Hopefully, they will listen to your feedback. Debbie @ ilovemylemonadelife.com

I'm temporarily agog at the image of wearing Spanx to keep leggings up...lol. You are too funny. My leggings usually lose their shape at the knee.

Thanks for the honest review. I love the prints, too, and they look stunning on you, but the wait and the quality control are off-putting.

I will be in the market for fleece lined leggings come fall, sez the woman panting in the dog daze of "spring" in the South.

Thanks for the great review, Bella. I LOVE leggings, but you are right that I'd want them to fit! The prints are gorgeous!

I ordered a pair and mine were tiny!! Now that I've gained some weight there is NO WAY they would even begin to fit!! They were one size fits all... But, obviously not really (when I got them I was actually much smaller than I am now). Love the print and I'm sad I can't wear them. Yours are amazing!! My order also took a long time to arrive--several weeks.

I think this company must be sending a lot of bloggers free stuff as I see them popping up all over the blogosphere. I find it kinda of depressing that so many women rush to buy cheap clothes only to complain about them and then go out and buy more. With leggings it's as much about the print as it is the fit. Why not pay a bit more from from someone local? Why not buy things MADE IN THE USA?

I had saved up and bought a few BM leggings but the fit was off for me. I am so happy to have found Kiss Me Kitty, a locally made high quality legging line. They may cost more but they are so worth it. When it comes to clothes my goal is either second hand or straight from the maker here in the US. I'm pretty much done with Forever 21 H&M Modcloth and all those other stores. I may buy it second hand but I will try and not buy it first. That's just my 2 cents.

So Bella, I don't want to sound snotty, but I have to say - the leggings don't fit, and they are made and shipped from China, probably in dubious working conditions. Even if the prints are great, those are reasons NOT to buy. I like your buy secondhand, buy ethical and buy local principles way more than these leggings, I'm afraid! xxx

Love the prints--especially the floral under the polka dot skirt. And thanks for the honest review--big help.

I don't think you come off as snotty, dear Curtise, but blunt and honest, and I can appreciate that. I agree with you- I accepted the product to review, and gave them my review. After experiencing the questionable quality control and weird fit, it all but double cinches my resolve to "shop secondhand first." I am completely with Krista on the focus to shop local if possible and she and Illa Pop have got me wanting a pair of locally (Portland OR) sourced and made QUALITY print leggings from Kiss Me Kitty!

Bella as always, I love your honesty and the fact that you write about the good and the problems with any product that you review.
I like the ethnic prints but I personally prefer to buy leggings locally so I can try them before buying it, as you say sometimes the fit and the sizes are off.
